Male Actors/Voices Wanted with Strong Dramatic Improvisation Skills for weekly radio soap drama series 492 Korna Klub.

The series ‘492 Korna Klub’ focuses on an Afro Caribbean family deciding to return back home, after 50 years of life in the UK. They run a community centre in their spare time near to where they live in Anncesstington. Their forthcoming silver wedding anniversary plans to handover their possessions to their siblings’ leads to difficulties. Staff at the community centre are up in a peril organising activities and events for survival.

The series explores the themes of family, community and social and political injustices. It also offers to illustrate the solutions to unite and heal the problems that exist and blight that community.

We require a wide range of MALE actors/voices in different ages for the on-going series.

Expenses will be paid and if successful reward you with FREE TRAINING and being part of an innovative exciting project where you can develop and enhance your performance skills working alongside industry professionals.

Ideally male actors/voices who can sustain different character voices and have strong improvisational skills would suit the project best.

LIVE Performances on the radio are always every Friday between 4.00pm – 6.00pm in Peckham South London.

To be involved in the project, you will need to attend the "Meet & Greet" Workshop on Sunday 25th March 11.00am - 3.00pm 5th Floor (Green Side) Royal Festival Hall South Bank Center Waterloo in London SE1 8XX

The Meet & Greet workshop is design to:

• Get to know your skills and abilities

• Select performers who like the project and want to work with us

• Build a pool of performers we can draw on for future episodes

• Create characters for the series

• Introduce you to the company’s conventions formats, patterns and styles needed for Live Dramatic Improvisations on air

Principals guiding our work:

• Improvisation

Dramatic improvisation is a big house and lots of different things go on in there. The work we do is outside comedic improvisation. There will be certain conventions that we will use in this project that you need to be familiar with. We focus on a set of basic skills or aptitudes within improvisation for example Tension, Focus and Attitude

Role Description

Character description:

Michelle Forester 32 Winston's girlfriend, mother of Sophia. Lives in 3 bedroom flat in Stephen Lawrence Drive. Born and bread in local area, went to same school as Winston, works part-time for a local councillor as a P.A and is involved in local politics. Had hopes of marrying Winston whom she‘s known since school and has been going out with him for 10 years. Is giving up on their relationship and sees herself as a single parent. Has a daughter, Sophia, aged 9 who has Sickle Cell. Her family are originally from Barbados; her grandparents are still alive and live by the sea in the nearby town of Kuti whilst her parents live in the suburbs of Ancesstington. Has two brothers and two sisters who all live locally. Is spiritual but not into organised religion although she goes to church from time to time for the sake of her daughter and her in laws.
